Derek Carroll

President

Derek Carroll, has been working in the construction industry for the past 11 years and has extensive experience working on design-build, civil, and underground utility construction projects. Prior to starting his own company, Derek has overseen and managed projects in substations and underground utility distribution both gas and high voltage for San Diego Gas and Electric and Southern California Edison. Working on substations and underground electrical distribution is extremely sensitive and our organization prides itself on our safety record and the ability of our managers to ensure proper safety standards are in place.

Along with his construction experience, Derek brings his military service experience to the team. He has spent 11 years as a Special Forces Engineering Sergeant. His strong military resilience and Army values adds a wealth of experience and confidence needed in the construction industry. He has deployed multiple times as a Special Forces Senior Engineer. As a senior engineer he was the primary advisor to the commander on all aspects of engineering, construction and demolitions. He assisted in planning and conducting detachment level Unconventional Warfare (UW), Foreign Internal Defense (FID), Special Reconnaissance (SR), and Direct Action (DA) operations in support of USCENTCOM and USSOUTHCOM objectives. He was responsible for managing over $1M worth of equipment for the detachment. Required to perform all duties in Spanish.  He created and led courses in Spanish on explosive and mechanical breaching for an elite 90 man El Salvadorian Counter-Narcotics Task Force. He also conducted over 100 combat missions in a ten-month period in Afghanistan. As an army engineer, he developed, planned, and maintained base construction projects to include a dining facility, gravel roads, training facilities, and force protection: barriers, bunkers, sniper towers, ammo depots etc. He served as the Pay Agent and Contracting Officer for balancing multiple funds and accounts worth over $500,000 in order to ensure accurate representation of expenses for the detachment. He assists with advanced medical and life saving technical training. Derek also earned the Bronze Star for service in Operation Enduring Freedom XIX in Afghanistan.

Michael Gray has over 10 years’ experience in the environmental construction industry. Mike has directly overseen highly sensitive Transmission Line projects consisting of miles of erosion control and SWPPP implementation for LA Department of Water and Power, Southern California Edison, and San Diego Gas & Electric. Mike has completely developed and implemented environmental policies and programs specific to projects and organizations. This includes staff training and environmental policy analysis both of which are imperative to maintaining environmental compliance on construction projects. Mike’s vast knowledge of environmental construction and experience makes him an invaluable member of our team
